Jerry is highly regarded as a compassionate coach and persistent advocate for students and their families in the Boston metropolitan area. He is known for leading informative workshops for professionals and lay people to educate them about the latest special education laws. He teaches parents the skills necessary to help them achieve successful outcomes for their students. He facilitates parent support groups, including monthly Fathers of Children with Autism and Developmental Disabilities groups.
Among his accomplishments:
- Serves yearly as panel participant at University of Massachusetts Medical School LEND program
- Chaired the groundbreaking JCC of Greater Boston, “Beyond the Ramp Conference” dedicated to promoting full inclusion of children/adolescents and their families into human service agencies and religious life
- Invited speaker for Department Mental Heath annual breakfast at the Massachusetts State House, lobbying for increased funding for children and adolescents with mental illness
